Visitors will start off startled but are prompted to learn about the tricks of perception and how the human brain works through their experience of each exhibit. The story behind the Museum of Illusions began in 2015 in Zagreb, Croatia, where the first museum was opened. As of today, there are over 27 museums globally including US locations in New York, Orlando, Dallas and Kansas City. The concept of the Museum is based on the principle of fun and offers an original and unique experience to visitors, locals and tourists alike. Museum of Illusions offers interactive, immersive and fun experience for children, parents, couples, grandmothers and grandfathers – a perfect, unusual and exciting place for all generations.
Amusing and awesome tricks will teach you about vision, perception, the human brain and science so it will be easier to perceive why your eyes see things which your brain cannot understand. Originally scheduled to open earlier this summer, the Museum of Illusions Chicago began welcoming guests over the weekend, allowing visitors to view and step inside a variety of displays designed to fool your brain. Founded in Croatia in 2015, the Chicago museum joins more than 20 other locations around the world, including cities like Hamburg, Madrid, New York and Paris. You'll find stickers in each of the photo-friendly rooms that allow you to snap the perfect shot . There are also smaller illusions lining the halls of the museum, demonstrating holograms, reflective tricks and other optical illusions.
Museum of Illusions started as a unique project which soon became one of the fastest growing education and entertainment places, with locations in more than 30 cities around the globe; and continues to expand! This original concept was launched in Zagreb, Croatia in 2015 and quickly become a recognizable brand and leading attraction in each city where it is launched. The mind-bending museum now offers guests the chance to have their brains discombobulated and senses baffled with 80 different bewildering exhibits. Each and every optical illusion is unlike the last as they change with every glance and glimmer leaving your perceptions completely perplexed. Located on in a 5,000-square-foot space on the ground floor of 25 E Washington Street, the Museum of Illusions Chicago is only selling tickets online while capacity restrictions remain in place.
Timed tickets start at $21 for adults and $15 for kids ages 5 to 12 and are available via the museum's website. Allow yourself 45 minutes to an hour to explore the space, don't forget a face mask and prepare to see some things that you can't quite explain. While many visitors will arrive at the attraction with Instagram shots in mind, the Museum of Illusion bills itself as an "edutainment destination," where guests are able to learn about what they're seeing. "Our goal is to teach our guests why their eyes are seeing something their brains can't understand, so our staff is very well trained in the illusions and the psychology and science behind each of them," Stec says. Chicago's latest museum, now open in the Loop, will relaunch with a variety of COVID-19 safety measures in place. In addition to mandatory face mask policy, limited capacity, and one-way paths through the exhibition space, an HVAC system with air purifying technology has been installed throughout the museum.
With a Museum of Illusions already in each of New York, Dallas, and Kansas City, the Chicago Museum of Illusions is one of 6 to come to United States cities as part of the fast-growing Museum of Illusions project that started in Zagreb, Croatia five years ago. Chicago and other museums opening in Orlando, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Miami, and Washington will take the total number of these interactive educational museums to over 30 worldwide. Now open, the Museum of Illusions is a unique and exciting concept offering the opportunity to interact with and immerse oneself in over 80 fascinating illusionary exhibits. Chicago's array of awe-inspiring museums has another addition to add to its eclectic mix and this one is slightly whackier than the rest.
The Museum of Illusions has now reopened at 25 East Washington Street offering an interactive, immersive, and, most importantly – incomprehensible experience for all generations. Within the Museum, there is also a "Dilemma" indoor playroom and "Dilemma" shop where visitors of all ages can play, compete, learn and buy mind challenging toys and games that encourage creative thinking. Mirror infinity rooms, scale-distorting rooms, holograms, a vortex tunnel, and an anti-gravity room are some of the exhibits that await you at the Chicago Museum of Illusions. There will also be Smart Shop where educational toys, 3D lights, and other souvenirs can be purchased.
